Ptegyrium- remove or not

Hello,

I am a 46 years old men. My eyes are red all the time, especially after taking a shower or the end of a work day. The eye doctor told me that I have Ptegyrium but no need to removed at this time because it is not in the serious state. However, I feel uncomfortable when I blink my eyes. I feel like there are sand in my eyes. I use the eye drops (non preservative) every day but the drops did not help. I also wear sun glasses every time I go out. Is there a best way to get rid of the Ptegyrium without going through the surgery? Or is there a way to get rid of the gritty sensation in my eyes?
I appreciate any advice you can provide.

Best,

Dear insjca,

There are many different types of lubricating drops and ointments which can be used.  Please go back to your doctor and explain your complaints. He will advise you on a drop regiment, ointments or removal.
