Pterygium surgery - graft question

Pterygium surgery - graft question

Hi guys,
I had surgery on a recurrant pterygium (2nd surgery, primary was excised in 1998) 1 week ago and had a quick question about the healing process. Can't get in for a post op visit till later this week.

Surgery was an autograft with sutures and no fibrin glue (don't think glue is used in Australia yet). As would be expected my eye is still quite red. Pain this time was quite manageable. Looking at my eye in the mirror I can see that there are small flaps of skin (or conjunctivita - whatever the graft material is called!) hanging off the graft edge near some of the sutures on the bottom of the graft just under my botom eyelid. I'm just worried this might cause complications. Will just wait till my post op visit to ask my doctor but just thought I'd see if this is concerning or if the flaps of skin will heal or re-join to the rest of the graft? The eye is not sore anymore and I can't see any signs of infection. I'm hoping it is just a minor complication or just a normal part of the healing process. The graft itself is still inflammed and the edges are raised.

Anyways thanks for any help or information.

Cheers!

hi i had surgery 3 days ago on my right eye for the second time,. this time a graft was done and the fibrin glue used. fantastic comfort during the process ..very very very painful for the first 2 days today feeling much better..just wish someone would develop some drops to dissolve the growth so it didnt have to be surgically removed. i have my other other to get done as well..i hope this is the last time for surgery on this eye.
