Pterygium surgery autograft. Graft issue.

Had conjuctival autograft performed April 6th 2010. Saw a consultant last week who mentioned the graft wasn't very flat or hasn't flattened.

Will the graft evutally flatten? I did complain of redness and he did say it may need more time.

I have had 4 opinions in the last 12 months and they have taken me off steroid drops.

However I just can't get my mind round why the graft isn't completely flat. Do you think they should fix that with surgery or just leave it?

The names Matt by the way and I'm from the UK. The only person in the UK who has pterygium.

Well then you have taken longer than normal. Consider a second opinion or maybe a short trial of steroid drops.

Use the search feature and read the posts about this type of surgery. The eye stays red for a LONG time months and months. Usually with time the graft does flatten.
