Pterygium

I had a pterygium removed from my right eye in January 2008 here in the U.S. it was extremely successful. I had another pterygium removed from my left eye, in my country of origin in South America, on August 11, 2009. My doctor said it should be healed by october 11. My eye terribly bothers me, it is red and hurts more often than not. I can't find any literature on what could have gone wrong. My doctor in my country is well experienced in her field, the equipment she used was sophisticated, but I did have stitches which bothered me for the entire two weeks I had them. I wore dark glasses and still do, and also applied drops as she suggested, I stiil do and not even then my eye will stop being red and hurting. Please help! It is driving me insane.
Thank you

Dear dewdewdew,

I would recommend that you sgo back to your eyeMD to determine the cause of your symptoms.  Sometimes, healing issues in a person may cause the eyes to heal differently.
