Pupil Missing

Hello

We have a new born son - 4days old, and we have noticed that part of one of is pupils is missing.  Is this something to worry about?

Your help would be greaty appreciated.

Thanks

Yes you need to be very concerned. Tell your pediatrician and get to see an pediatric eye MD ophthalmologist in the next several weeks. Part of the pupil missing is often a sign of iris coloboma (key hole iris). Sometimes the back of the eye (retina, choroid and optic nerve and macula) have corresponding missing areas.
