Pupils different sizes after neck surgery

I had a lump removed from my neck two days ago and they said the surgery was rather complicated but that nothing went wrong  during it and that was all fine, but the day after my surgery i realised my pupils were very noticeably different sizes and my eyelid feels a bit droopy. The surgeon sent me to the eye specialist in the hospital and he said they may have hit a nerve in my neck which would have made this happen, and that it could be permanent.I was wondering if there is nerves in your neck that make this happen or could have something else happened it to do with the anesthetic i was under?
