RK and Cataract Surgery

Hi Doctors:   I wore hard contacts X 25years - had to stop due to overgrowth of blood vessels on lenses even though I was wearing the most oxygen transparent ones there were.   I've had RK surgeries (16 cuts each eye) and cataract surgeries (in December 07).  My right eye is dominant, but was made to see close - reading.  Left eye was made to see far, and is now plano, but only about 20/40.  Left eye won't dominate now, so vision isn't so good, especially at night.  I rec'd permission to get contact lens for right eye from my opthalmologists ("you can try it") so have been fitted w/ -2.5 soft lens - have both Acuvue 2 and Acuvue Oasis to try.  Acuvue 2 is actually much more comfortable, can't feel it at all.  My vision in right eye is now excellent (for me).  My question:  do I have to worry about problems w/ a soft lens re:  past RK surgery?  If so, can I still wear the soft lens?  And which one is best?  If not, tell me now before I do something wrong.  (both these lenses are 2 week wear, taking out at night).  Thanks for your input - again!

RK surgery doesn't rule out contacts except that the vision may not be as clear as your like and night vision may be problem due to RK scars. Your contact lens fitter will have to determine which is best for you.
