I also had cataract in Nov., 2007 with absolutely no problems until it was time for new glasses - I had 2 sets of defective lenses and after the 3rd set, I was back to a perfect vision except for the glare, halos, etc. I had exactly the same problems you were having. In searching this website, someone recommended TheraTears Nutrition which is Omega3 and Flaxseed Oil tabs and is packaged by CVS. I decided to try this as I was at wits end to a solution. It should take up to 4 weeks for relief but in 3 days I saw a marked improvement and what a relief from these problems. There are times when I don't even need sunglasses for outside and I am able to tolerate most lighting. I am not trying to sell you something but I believe in it so much I want to share my experience with everyone who might benefit from it. Best of luck - I know what you're going through.

Get a second opinion, an expert refraction and glasses of aspheric design, tinted with anti-reflective coating may help, also need to rule out a cloudy posteriod capsule and the need for a Yag capsulotomy. Also be sure the IOL has not decentered or moved out of position.
