My husband (37) has been experiencing a large amount of floaters over the past year. He saw an ophthalmologist about the problem and was told nothing could be done to

As you can see on our internet site, questions about floaters are very
commonCommon cold. For the most part they are
benignBenign ear cyst or tumor
Benign positional vertigo and rarely would we recommend treatment for them unless they are associated with a retinal tear. It would not be unreasonable to see a retina specialist if you are concerned. I would not recommend traveling across the country to see a particular retina specialist for your floaters. You can speak with your ophthalmologist and find out who he/she reommends or look in the phonebook for a retina specialist. I am sure there is someone close by who would be perfectly adequate. I hope that this is helpful.
