I was recently diagnosed with lattice degeneration.  Unfortunately, I failed to ask if there is anything I can due to prevent anymore damage i.e. stop wearing contacts, try to avoid stress on my eyes, avoid sun etc.

the only things to try to avoid are 1) blunt trauma to the yes 2) forgetting your yearly follow up to the ophthalmologist.  otherwise there is nothing much for you to do to prevent problems.
