david,
try hot compresses,
try cold compresses,
walk outside..
take hot baths..
take hot showers..
use refresh plus tears (turquoise colored box)
dont smoke up..
see drugs sometimes have a really bad effect.
I know after smoking up u can get severe headaches
but after a while they should go away..
anyow i am sure u are really sensitive to smoke.
Try to avoid smoke.. and just rest..i have severe eye pain as well.
its related to headache...mostly in my left eye..
i try everything to keep myself busy so the pain does
not affect me as much..its a tough call but see
a neuro ophtamologist..they can sometimes help..
also look into meds like Neurontin and Depecote. ask
your doctor about those drugs..those can really
help with migrains..STAY away from over the counter
pain relievers (excedrin, Motrin, asprin, tylenol, Advil etc..)
they play a 'rebound' effect which can make u more sensitve to pain
once the medication wears off..so try to stick to the prescriptions that
your doctor can suggest..also try alternative medicine, naturopath..
they can probably help you with your headaches..but first
try to get an appointment with a neuro opthamologist..
these are just opinions from my perspective because
i myself have faced eye pain and headaches and am still suffering from it.
so take it easy and relax..
