Have experienced ocular migraines for over 40 years.  Usually occurs in one eye and lasts 20 minutes from start to finish with no residual effects.  Could have one a month, one every six months, two in a week, and then go a year without any.  Usually thought of these episodes as an annoyance rather than an "affliction." Last weekend, experienced three right after another, alternating eyes (each lasting 20 minutes with roughly a five to ten minute interval). Immediately following a headache (affecting the eyes, temples, and top of head) developed and has continued for 2 full days now.  Have tried regular Tylenol, Robaxin, and finally resorted to Tylenol 3 -- none have worked.  Is this normal?  Could this be a sinus headache which developed coincidentally?

Kathie,
It sounds like you have been having ophthalmic migranes (migraines).  It is possible that these may occasionally occur as "regular" migranes (migraines) and be associated with headaches.  If this continues to occur you should see your primary care doctor or consider seeing a neurologist.
It is hard to be any more specific without seeing you.
This information is provided for educational purposes only.  You should see your physician for diagnostic and treatment options.
Sincerely,
HFHS MD - NI
