It can take up to 6 months for the retina to recover as much as it will after retinal detachment surgery.  Until then it is difficult to predict what the best potential vision is.
The difficulty adjusting to light can be related to medications especially if you were on a red top medicine (atropine).  This can take 4 weeks to wear off.
You will need to have a refraction done to see what your best vision is with glasses.  This can usually be done 6 -  8 weeks after surgery.  Some of the distortion may improve.
This information is for educational purposes only.  You should keep followup with your ophthalmologist.

Thanks for information, The medication i were taking CYCLOGYL 1% cyclopentolate (which has a red top) and NEOMYCIN-POLYMYXIN, both are drops is this the medication you refering to. My Doctor suspended use a week ago, he also pointed out that it is to early to tell what final vision result will be, i saw ophthalmologist today asked abt darkness and slow reaction he commented it would improve. I did some research myself is there some thing i could do personally to assist in recovery (CONE / ROD), it's scary when you come in from bright sun and you see very dk outline shadow which lightens up after long extended time out of direct light. should i try and shelter eye from light or go as is. before(BC 9.2 / DIA 14.5 / PWR -2.00 / CYL -1.75 / AXIS 180)
After  ( SP -2.5 / CYL -1.75 / AXIS 05) what is the big change in Axis?
Thanks for all help (Information is Knowledge) This is what the Internet about.
