I am 32 and over the past couple of months have developed a few floaters in my right eye ( cloud like ) and one in my left. I have had them checked and told they are caused by changes in the vitreous ,causing "fibres" to come together and this causes the floater.
The floaters are becoming more noticeable in any situation / light and are quite depressing.
I have been told they will become less noticeable but always be there.
I have read on the Internet that lasers have been tried on floaters to reduce there size. I am interested is any other research and what do you think the chances of some treatment becoming available are?
Also has hypnosis been used to reduce how noticeable floaters are?
Any comments appreciated, this is really depressing me.

Floaters can be caused by several things including changes in the vitreous.  The floaters you describe can be annoying.  There is no treatment recommended for this condition since any treatment to remove the floaters is associated with its own risk (eg retinal detachment).  There have been some reports using laser to disrupt floaters.  Most ophthalmologists would not recommend any such procedure due to potential risks.
I am not aware of hypnosis being used to treat floaters.
