Reading with Contacts/Glasses

31 year old female

I wear glasses: -2.50/-.50/175 & -2.50/-.50/170

I have absolutely NO problem reading while I have my glasses on. Everything is clear and crisp, no strain. Very comfortable, actually.

When I wear my contacts, Acuvue Oasys, -2.50 in both eyes, I have been having a difficult with eye strain and clear vision while reading. I don't understand what is going on?

Could it be the astigmatism? My doc said he didn't want to correct it with the contacts if he didn't have to? I've been wearing contacts for about 8 years now, and the astigmatism has progressed (even though it is still mild).

I'm just very annoyed because I'd prefer to wear contacts, but my vision is so much better with the glasses.

The astigmatism is insignificant.  Most likely your prescription is too strong.
