I had ptyrigium removal from my left eye (second time) this past Tuesday, May 20th in Knoxville, TN at the UT Medical Center. The first operation last April resulted in the regrowth of the ptyrigium - autograft with stitches was used.
I thought I was doing very well until today, when the part of the eye with the autograft has turned from "sort of" red to "very dark red". I can see out of the eye, no discharge, and no pain any worse than I have had the past 3 days. However, the change in the severity of the eye color (where the autograft is stitcked on my eye) is worrying me.
Can anyone offer any advice?
I return to Knoxvill on Tuesday morning for my followup.
Thanks,
Martha
