Red Eye with Swelling (?)

Red Eye with Swelling (?)

Hi I've had a red eye since I think 3 weeks ago. It first started hurting so I scheduled a check-up with my optometrist (I use contact lens so I think it got infected that way) I couldn't use my contacts until it got better. He gave me 2 small bottles. The first bottle is called Vigamox (moxifloxacin hydrochloride ophthalmic solution) and used 2 times daily. The other was Bausch and Lomb (Gentamicin Sulfate Ophthalmic Solution) which I used 4 times daily. He said it usually lasts about a week or so. He prescribed me more bottles just in case. I ran out of the listed solutions and my eye was healed a little. I went to Wal-Mart with my prescription and it cost me 50$ (no insurance) to get another bottle. I have to use it 4 times daily. It's called Falcon Pharmaceuticals (Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride Ophthalmic Solution). As I said, it's been 3 weeks with little signs of healing. Should I go back to my doctor?

Ah, also one more question. Both my eyes look bloodshot. A lot of red veins. Only the right eye is infected and my eyes have always been bloodshot since I can remember. I use Visine Advanced Relief but it doesn't help my eye. Is there something wrong?
