Red eye of my 4 year old

Red eye of my 4 year old

My son got Pink Eye infection on his left eye after his swimming class on Saturday. Before I took him to the doctor on MOnday morning, he was fine except the Pink eye infection that had swollen in his right eye.  My doc prescribed 'Vigamox'  eye drops to apply for 3 times a day. After giving my son first dose of 1 drop; he started having high fever (103.5) and lost his apetite. My doctor explained it as viral fever and suggested to wait for another 2 days. On Wednesday, I took my son to the doctor for follow up as his fever was not going down. I was giving him Motrin every 6 hrs and tylenol after 4 hrs of Motrin to lower his temperature. I felt it was side effect of Vigamox but doctor didn't agree. On Thursday, I decided not to give him Vigamox anymore and my son's fever is under control with Motrin every 6-8 hrs; I need not to give him Tylenol anymore. I am applying Refresh eye drop in his eyes since his left eye is also showing signs of infection. On Friday, I can see improvemet in eyes however my son is complaining of pain in his right eye and he is too young to explain what kind of pain he is having. Please suggest if I should use another eye drop? I don't want to go to my doctor again. Should I go and see an Opthalmologist or should I wait and watch for another few days? Doctors...Kindly advise.

You need to take him back to the doctor.
