Red eye

by AmericanSoldier, Nov 01, 2009 10:37AM
Today out of nowhere the veins in my left eye seemed to be really red and irritated.  It looks like a cluster of veins next to my eye that stretch up above my eye.  I put eye drops in but it burns.  I wear contacts and thought that maybe the contact is the cause.  Should I go see an eye doctor or just see if it goes away.

Leave your contacts out and call the MD or OD that fit your contacts tomorrow

I went to the doc yesturday just because it seemed to be spreading.  The doc looked into my eye with the yellow dye and said nothing was in it.  She thinks that I sneezed to hard or coughed and that made a vessel burst.  She gave me an anti inflamitory drop which I will pick up today.  It feels a little better today, although the redness has gotten worse.  The doc said the red may get worse before better though.  Thank you for answering my post..

Dear Americansoldier,

I would recommend that you seek the care of an eyeMD immediately.  Do not wear your contacts as this may be an infection, overwear, inflammation, or swelling.
