Red spot and floaters

by Merlin86, Apr 20, 2009 12:25PM
Hello,

Since a week or two I have a red spot in my vision. It's not always there, but mostly when it's getting dark. But when it's fully dark I don't see it. Also when I am sitting in my garden on a sunny day I don't see it. The spot looks like somebody took a photograph of you and you see that spot... But this spot I have is not that big. I see it just above the middle of my vision. So when I look at somebody, I see the spot in the middle of his forehead.

I also have floaters, when I see a white wall or when i look at the sky. I have had this all my life, but since i am a little bit scared about this red spot the floaters come more frequently.

I also found out that when I blink my eyes the red spot goes away....
I've seen a eye doctor and a neurologist and they found nothing and said I don't have to worry because I don't get dizzy and I can see good. But I am still a little bit scared, because they didn't tell me what it could be.

I looked at this site and I thought maybe this is what is called entopic phenomenom. Could that be?

Dear Merlin86,

It does not sound like an entopic phenomenom.  You do not mention how long the spot lasts.  I would recommend that you seek the care of a retinal specialist and have your eyes examined. They will be able to assist in assessing your eyes.
