Redness when I wear contacts

When I wear my left contact, I get redness around the iris only on the side closest to my nose.  I have worn the same brand of contact for years and my right eye is fine.  I changed the lense and I still get the problem when i put the left one in.  It is not painful or itchy.  What could be the problem?

There is definitely either a problem with the fit or your eye's tolerance to the lens which could be affected by things like allergies, drye eyes or overuse.  See an ophthalmologist to try to get it figured out and quit the contact in the meantime.
