Reduced vision in morning

Reduced vision in morning

Hello,

Twice in maybe the last six months I awoke with "spotty" vision and some blob like features in my upper periphery. Blink a couple of times and it is gone. No other symptoms at all. This has only happened first thing in the morning.

I do have the occasional occular migrane (migraine), but this seem a bit different as it goes away as soon as I wake up. Any suggestions? I did go to the eye doctor last week and everything was normal with the exception of a slight stigmatism.

Thanks.

Chances are these symptoms are related to migraine. Sometimes, circulatory problems can cause these symptoms--decreased carotid flow, heart irregularities, anemia, etc. The blobs are brought on by sudden change in position and thereby change in blood flow. I would check it out with your regular medical doctor.

If blinking made it go away, it would only be a superficial mucus having pooled in your eye then moved away when you blinked. Anything which causes mucus in the eye could cause this. One cause is working in an area with particulate material in the air....as around new construction, a dusty room, placing powder on the face without closing the eyes, etc. Artificial tears at night before bed and even during the day may help.
