Refractive error vs. axial length

Hi Dr.,

I am a high myope with a -9 and -8.5 contact lens prescription.  I've been told I have "flat" corneas (an Acuvue Oasys lens of 8.8 BC is "tight" on me).

I got my axial lengths measured today using some laser-type device (not ultrasound).  I assume this is an IOL Master or something - I was looking at a red dot.  Anyway, the lengths came back about 26.8mm in each eye.

Does this sound right to you?  The axial lengths sound small for someone with my prescription, especially if I have flat corneas, which I would THINK would mean  I have a longer globe than someone with normal corneas and my same prescription.

I did feel like I had some trouble focusing exactly on the red dot at all times, but I don't know if that makes a difference.

I need to know your K readings.  However. you can have an axial length of this length with flat Ks and your refraction.

Of course, K readings make a difference, but your axial measurement makes sense to me.  For comparison purposes, I was a -7 with an axial length of 25.
