Is the restor implant procedure possible when the patient has intermittent herpes outbreaks in the eye?

any major eye surgery will create special problems with a recurrent herpes simplex patient because almost always steroid drops have to be used and that increases the risk of a herpes flare up.

On my herpes patients I wait somewhat longer than regular patients, make sure they understand the increased risks, start them on oral anti-virals (famvir, acyclovir, valcef) and do not recommend a multifocal IOL
