Restore Lens

I had a Restore Lens put in about 3 weeks ago. My middle and distance is blurry. What can be the cause? Will it clear up? If it doesn't how can it be corrected? It is also very difficult to drive at night because of the glare and halos.

If you search this forum you will see that quite a few people have problems with the ReStor lens.  Some improve, some don't.  Some have had it successfully explanted and replaced with a monofocal which provided clear vision.

I'm 5 weeks out with a ReStor lens and still having problems.  I wake up each morning with clear vision and within 2 to 3 hours, my distance vision (anything beyond about 6 feet) is blurry.  Sometimes it clears up somewhat later in the day if I have my eyes closed for a period of time.  I'm investigating the possibility of dry eye causing this and am now taking Restasis even though my eye doesn't feel particularly scratchy.  BTW, I  had very good vision for a couple of days after the surgery before the blurriness started.

Seems that multifocals are more problematic than the monofocals.  I wish I'd known this beforehand.  My eye surgeon still claims that I'm the rare case.

You may want to go for a second opinion if it doesn't clear up very soon.  Best to you.

In these two eye forums in look at 6 months data complaints about cataract surgery multifocal and accommodating IOLs were 23 times more likely to general a complaint than monofocal IOLs
