Restoring Vision

sir my friend is completely blind from the age of 11.now he is 50.He lost vision in an accident when he fell over a sahrp object that injured his eyes. He consulted an eye doctor and received medication for the external injury and his vision is absolutely fine at that time. But unfortunately with time his vision deteriorated gradually and he lost his vision completely one year after the accident.He consulted many doctors and they told him that his optic nerve is damaged and there is no chance for restoring vision.sir please let me know if there is any chance to restore his vison due to the optic nerve damage.

This forum is not a replacement for a real in person exam. But if multiple ophthalmologists have said he can't  be helped due to optic nerve damage then that is likely the case.

At present we cannot cure optic nerve damage. Someday we will but not likely soon.
