Retina nerve swelling

I have had a recent change in my left eyes ability to see clearly. Last eye exam in Jan. Went today and my eye Dr.   He saw some slight swelling in nerves in back of eye.  He has referred e to a retina specialist. What should I expect?

Swelling of the optic nerves is often very serious. There are many causes and I can't generalize your answer. The important thing is to see the retina MD

I noticed a change in my left eyes ability to see clearly a week & half ago. I saw ophthalmology today, who refered me to a retina specialist immediately. I saw the retina specialist today, he noticed swollen in both optics nerves of my eyes. .He recommended that I consult with a neurologist immediately. I have an appt with mt neurologist tomorrow. Since, I came back from the retina specialist, the vision in my right is slighty blurred along with the left. In addition to this, I have slightly discomfort above my eyebrow http://www.medhelp.org/posts/new/583768#&; near my front lobe/  What should I expect?
