Retinal Artery Occlusion

I (healthy female, early 30s) had a branch retinal artery occlusion a few days ago and am left with patches of blindness in one eye. Is there a) any hope that over time this improves and b) any treatmemt at all - even if experimental - to help me regain more vision in the affected eye?

Arterial occlusions of the retina are usually totally painless and sudden.  Unfortunately, I really don't have a lot encouraging news.  I do know that sometimes things may improve a little as some of the swelling improves.  Often, retinal damage can occur within a few hours but if your collateral circulation is very good sometimes the permanant damage can be limited and things can improve.  Generally what you have in a month or two may be what you have long term.  See a retinal specialist ophthalmologist for more help.
