Retinal Detachment

Hey,

I had a scleral buckle surgery with vitrectomy and cryopexy for a retinal detachment surgery.  i was wandering when will the swelling and redness in my eye would subside.

Can I have a retinal detachment again
Can I have other complications like glaucoma or PVR(proliferative vitreoretinopahy) or cataract?
My family history for eye problems only include cataract, not even retinal detachment (?) weird

Please help

It may take a month or two or more before the swelling and redness improve.  You can have a detachment again, but hopefully not.  You would know fairly early on if glaucoma was going to be a big problem but PVR can occur later in some cases.  You don't have to have a family history in order to have retinal problems.  Talk to your surgeon about your specific risks and about how you are doing and your prognosis.
