Retinal Swelling

Can retinal swelling cause double and triple vision?  I have slight double vision in one eye, and triple vision in the other.  I have been put on Xibrom drops to help the swelling.  How long should I expect this swelling to go down?  Is it possible that this will never get better?

Yes retinal swelling could cause those symptoms. The swelling often takes months to clear up. Yes there is some chance the swelling might not go away "chronic macular edema".
