I had a spontaneous detached retina involving the macular in October and have made a good recovery but with distorted vision in the affected eye. Haven't suffered any of the emotional problems people have mentioned - it could have been worse, such as terminal cancer! As it was I missed a longed-for trip to the US two weeks later, so that sucked! I was back at work immediately (same afternoon of the surgery) as I'm self employed and had no choice. I'm now working as a subeditor, on a computer 8hrs a day looking closely at type. My eye feels pretty tired the next day but no headaches - just a cotton wool feeling and reduced vision. My question is - am I risking a repeat or doing any damage with this work?
