Retinal tear

by cactusjack, Jan 03, 2008 12:49PM
Three weeks ago I had laser surgery for a torn retina. At my first follow up visit the surgeon  said everything looked perfect. I still have lots of floaters and light flashes in the eye. The surgeon said that the floaters and flashes will take time to settle down. Can you please give me your opinion on how long these floaters and flashes usually last after laser surgery. Thank you Cactus Jack.

The laser is NOT for the floaters its to seal the tear. The floaters may NOT settle down but you will get use to them and tune them out.  You may get lucky and the floaters may drop to the bottom of the eye that could take months or as I said may never happen.

Thank you for your response. Will the light flashes disappear in time?
