Retinitis Pigmentosa

my brother is suffering from Retinitis Pigmentosa. Is there any medicine  available to cure this disease. his vision is day by day decreasing. Please guide me.

Is your brother  being seen by a retinologist? There is a vitamin that is recommended. Do a search here on RP,

Your question has already been answered on this forum. Search the archives for more info. Here is the answer I posted previously:

There is still much information that is unkown about RP. Currently, there isn't a cure. Science is looking at research into gene therapy and other modalities to try and find a cure. Many patients w/ RP have usable vision for a good portion of their lives. However, the rate of progression varies since RP encompasses a wide variety of diseases. Make sure your friend is being seen by a retinal specialist and for more info. check out the Foundation Fighting Blindness, they raise money for research on RP and provide hope for many. Also, some info that I didn't include in my post but was mentioned by the questioner is that some doctors recommend vitamin A for those w/ RP.
