Ring Around The Iris

Hi, I have green eyes and I have a ring of dark green around my lighter green iris. I never thought anything of it until a friend said she had heard it was a sign of a vitamin deficiency. I've tried googling it but so far after searching through 8 forums and being led to 3 vampire websites I haven't found anything that sounds like my eyes! If anybody knows whether its just the colour of my eyes or if I need to start taking a vitamin supplement I'd be very grateful, its starting to bug me that I don't know now!!
