Dear Dr. Feldman:

How long does it take flax seed oil to help with dry eye?  I have been taking it for 3 months now.  I also take salmon oil, black current seed oil, vitamin E, and other oils tablets found in the hydrogel tablets you mentioned for dry eye.  I just wondered if you know approximately how long it would take to see a difference.  I'm also on Restasis as I had an eye infection that my doctor feels had to do with dry eye.

Thank you

Dear hsum4,

This should be enough time to observe a difference with flax seed oil.  I would recommend you see your eyeMD to determine other options for you such as punctual occlusion, instillation of ointments intensively. Make sure that the tear drops that you use have no preservatives!
