One thing that bothers me, is that I vividly remember my first retinal dr telling me right after surgery (my husband and my mom remember too) that they found a tumor growing behind my eye and they had to remove it. Because of that, they decided to check the other eye and I had another one growing. When I tried to ask my current dr about it, she reviewed everything that the dr recorded and there is no record of a tumor behind either eye. My old dr even went far enough to say that what I had was extremely rare and that only one in one billion people had what I had. Maybe it is possible that I imagined it, but my mom and my husband remember him saying that too. Unfortunately that dr has passed away so I cannot go back and ask him to verify what I was told and my current dr probably thinks I am crazy.
Hopefully they don't find anything unusual when they go in to do my scleral buckle surgery on my left eye. I hope it is just a simple surgery. After this, I hope there are no more problems as I will have a scleral buckle on both eyes. One of the drs at the practice thinks I have retinal degeneration, but I sure hope not! I am deaf as well so I really value any vision that I have! (Deaf from birth, but I do NOT have Ushers)
I am 32 and had a scleral buckle done two years ago. I am now six weeks pregnant. I heard that you you weren't supposed to give birth naturally with a buckle. Is that true? Thanks.
