Scleral buckle + Gas Bubble - -Resuming Exercise

I had a retinal detachment (lattice degeneration for years) and just had a scleral buckle put on, and a small gas bubble.  Luckily i have to keep my head up!  However, I was told I can resume normal activities in 2 weeks - -  TOMORROW -  but I keep reading how people reinjure eye or have to go back for more surgery.  ALL I WANT TO KNOW, is "is it safe to golf this weekend?  Of course when I look down at the ball, it's like staring through a snow globe. . . I also want to resume jogging my 20 miles a week - -

I have had 5 procedures for a detached, attached, redetached etc etc retina.  A couple of things  I have learned....I don't know how old you are but the younger you are the more you have to worry about scar tissue, that is your no. 1 enemy after you get all your tears taken care of and your retina reattached.  Reattachment is job 1 but scar tissue can drastically reduce your usable vision and the more procedures you have the more likely it becomes.  Be sure to let your surgeon know you are concerned.  Also I was very eager to resume my exercise routine and in retrospect I wish I hadn't.  I don't know how much of an effect it had on my redetachments and scar tissue formation but in retrospect perhaps taking it easy would have helped.  Don't know.  Best of luck to you, and no more surgeries!!!!

Just had surgery number 2 yesterday.  Reoccurring detachment where fluid leaked behind the retina and back to the macula.  Fun stuff!
