See computer screen and print material better by sliding distance glasses down my nose than seeing through reading glasses

I'm severely myopia (-8) and noticed that I read my computer screen and printed material better through distance glasses (smaller print) than reading glasses (larger print) by sliding my distance glasses down my nose.  With my reading glasses, I noticed the computer screen and print material is larger and I get headaches (or is it eye strain) in my left eye and frequently massage my left temple to relieve the strain.  My optometrist have checked my eyes repeatedly, found nothing, revised my reading glass prescription in my left eye repeatedly but I still have problems.  Gave up wearing my reading glasses.  Is it possible to get a "weak" pair of distance glasses so that I can continue to see the smaller print .. seems to work better with my eyes?  Searched internet, can't find anything on this.  Thanks!

Sliding the glasses down the nose changes the glasses RX away from distance and more to near-reading (like making adjustments to binoculars to see at different distances).

A lot depends on your age.  If you are very young ( less than 35 years) you glasses may be too strong and I would suggest seeing an eye MD ophthalmologist and asking for a post cycloplegic refraction.

If you are 36 or more you may be starting to experieince presbyopia and you may need to consider progressive bifocals.

In anycase see an Eye MD and don't see an optometrist. As you get older you need the special care and training and skills of an eye MD physician ophthalmologist.
