Seeing Darker In One Eye

Seeing Darker In One Eye

I posted this question on the Eye Care Communities page, but no one responded to it. This is really scaring me...

On Tuesday I went to a nero-opthamologist because I was seeing rainbow colored halos, and he told me there was nothing wrong there. But then he told me my optic nerve was very pale, and that I needed an MRI. So he scheduled one for Friday...but that's six days away, and there's this new symptom that sprang up, and I don't know if it should wait until then.

Whenever I look at anything out of my left eye, everything seems a lot...darker, somehow. Like light isn't getting filtered in the right way. When I look at the blue sky, for example, it looks normally blue in my right eye, and purple in my left eye. With both eyes open I can still see the purple a little bit, but it's not too noticeable. But I'm worried that it's going to get worse, and that I'll go blind in my left eye. Could this be related to a pale optic nerve?

Yes, I know you answered about the optic nerve, and for that I'm thankful. I wouldn't have known about it otherwise. But I had asked about what it meant to see darker vision in one eye, and if could be related to the optic nerve. But it's OK, because I was looking around on Google (not really a good place to research medical information, I know) and I found that a lot of people have that problem, where one eye seems to see colors more dark or tinted than the other eye. But yes, thank you for telling me about the pale optic nerve.
