Seeing Flashes and Stars

Hello. I have a question.

Lately,  my sinuses have been acting up due to the weather change.

With this change,  I have deep pain behind my eyes.  I have also noticed that my vision is somewhat blurry.  I am  seeing a lot of flashes (not floaters) like white lights or shiney stars that appear and disappear within a second.  But the flashes are often throughout the day and I do not know why.

*As a teen, I was diagnosed with being one eye being nearsighted and the other as farsighted.  
*My medical history is very good (knock on wood).  During my recent check-up,  my doctor did blood work for diabetes, cholesterol, and everything else which came out looking good.
*I have been under a certain amount of stress lately.
*I have been using the computer more than usual.

I was just wondering what could be the cause of these unusal flashes. It is starting to concern me.

You need to start with a complete medical eye exam by an ophthalmologist. Go to www.aao.org to find one near you and call today. The flashes could represent eye migraines, TIA, or serious disease of the eye, brain, heart or blood vessels\

TIA seems a little extreme for someone as healthy as me. Ive had heart tests done for a previous condition. I was cleared of anything serious. Im 28 years old so to consider TIA as a possibility seems rather extreme and unneccssary.  Almost like a scare tactic to get a person to rush to the ER.
