Severe eye pain

Severe eye pain

For the past 3 days I have had significant pain in the outer corner of my right eye.  The pain seems to be coming from the inside and not outside of my eye.  There is a slight redness on the inside corner and only slight inflammation but the pain seems to be worsening.  I don't have insurance and can't see a doctor to figure out what is wrong.  I don't know what could be causing the pain.  It is constant and blinking, moving my eye, and any touch makes the pain feel worse.  Does anyone know what this could be or how I could treat this myself?

I suggest you get in and see an ophthalmolgist to find out what is really going on.  In the meantime you can use artificial tears that are preservative free, every hour or so.  You could have anything from allergies to dry eyes to inflammation, keratitis, scleritis or other problems.  Needs to be seen in person - sorry.  Who can say what it is and how to treat it without actually seeing it.
