This may sound silly but can I/should I stop wearing my glasses? I am legally blind with them and at times it feels like I don't even have them on. My Opthamologist and Retinal Specialist isn't interested in giving me anymore glasses. My vision is 20/350 in my left eye and 20/400 in my right eye. They feel that overtime my vision will get worse. Should I talk to my doctor about this or can I just stop wearing them?
I would suggest you discuss this with your ophthalmologist. Very few retina specialists test for glasses or want anything to do with advising about glasses. Ask your ophthalmologist about referring you to a Low Vision Specialist.
As for your present glasses if they help even a little wearing them is useful. If nothing else they help protect agains injury and poking yourself in the eye.
