Side Effect from Cataract Surgery?

Ever since I had Cataract surgery on my left eye I have had a problem that my left eye does not close all the way.  The top eyelid does not come down the same way my right one does.  It is very uncomfortable and the Refresh PM
dry eye medication I use at night does not get spread over the dry area of my eye aas the eyelid cannot reach down that far to lubricate the dry area.  I had a little dry eye problem before but nothing like this and NO Problem with my eyelid not closing properly.  Is this a common problem and caused(in  my case) by the Cataract Surgery.  Can this be corrected and what do you suggest?  I would appreciate your help and input,  Thank you very much.

That's unusual as the most common problem is for the lid to sag and be lower than before surgery (ptosis).. See an Eye MD that specializes in oculoplastic surgery to see if it can be fixed. Find one at www.aao.org
