Silver spots in eyesight.

Whilst playing badminton I got hit on the side of the head just left of my left eye. It didnt hurt when it happened however about a minute later there where loads of what I thought was glitter falling from the roof of the hall so waved my racket at them but noone else seemed to be effected by the falling silver stuff. When I tried to look at spots I couldnt as they stayed at the side of my vision. There wasnt anything falling from the roof so I figured that something must have happened to my eyes. If anyone can explain this it would help. Its not worrying me or anything, I would just like to know what it is.

I am 17 and nothing like this has happened before except when i was about 6 and I was stood in assembly when everything went sort of pixelated and I couldnt see anything except little little spots of light and I was sick.

Dear macka1991,

I would recommend that you seek the care of an eyeMD.  It is possible that these spots may represent a vitreous detachment or be associated with an ophthalmic migraine.

Please make an appointment to see an ophthalmologist because these spots could represent symptoms of a retinal detachment, vitreous detachment, bleeding in the eye or a contusion of the retina.  This is not something to ignore.  Make sure to get it checked out.
