Should a person with retinal detachment avoid sleeping on their side?

2nd post op RD surgery  has aggressive scar tissue and has detached the retina in in the center.  The surgeons do not think the retina will completely detach due to the buckle being in place.
Would another scar tissue removal surgery save the center of the retina at this time, although another surgery might detach the entire retina?

I'm not sure where you're going with this. If you don't have a RD don't worry about it. If someone has had RD surgery sometimes positioning is important and other times not so much.

Oh sorry, I meant that if you had your retinal detachment fixed, would sleeping on your side be a problem and can it detach you retina again?

Ask your ophthalmologist. If you have a RD ask why its not been fixed.
