Slight difference in eye dialation

by MuscleTwitch, Apr 14, 2009 10:53PM
Hi, I am 32/m ,suffer from an anxiety disorder and recently went through a tough stretch.  During the stress, I have noticed alot of tension in my neck, occasional spasms above my left ear, occasional ringing in my left ear, and some annoying tingles around my head (all anxiety symptoms I'm told).  Now that I have calmed down for the most part, I have noticed my pupils seem to be a different size when I'm in a dim room.  If it is bright somewhere both are the same size and fine, but in darker rooms the right eye seems to stay smaller than my left.  I still have that tight feeling where the anxiety affected my face, is it a possibility that it could affect my pupil sizes?  It certainly seems too coinicidental all of this happened as I have suffered from anxiety, but it still is concerning to me as I hope I have caused a good deal of damage?  As the spasms and stuff have diminished, I'm hoping at this point my eyes go back to normal as well?  My vision does not seem affected in the day, and maybe a little blur in the right eye at night?  Thanks for the help

Depending on how carefully you measure them as many as 10% of the population with "normal" eyes have some difference in size of pupils (aneisocoria).\\

Make an appointment with an Eye MD. Don't let the staff put any eye drops in till the eye MD looks at your pupils. Also take in a good full face photo showing the size of your pupils for 3-5 years ago. Find an Eye MD at www.aao.org
