Small Pupils/Large Pupils

In terms of vision, what is the difference between having small pupils and large pupils? Are there advantages or disadvantages with either? Do the small pupil people and the large pupil people see things differently?

Smaller pupils result in better vision especially in patients with a refractive error.  That is why patients squint.  The optic are more complicated than this.  See a book on optics.

Thanks. I have small pupils and an optometrist once commented that that was good, but I never asked him why.
