Smoking after Cataract surgery

by aurti, May 29, 2008 06:29AM
Hi..my father in law is a smoker (8-10 per day). He has to get his cataract operation done tomorrow. He insists on not stopping smoking despite explaining him it can get worse. Can you tell me what cant be the worst consequence to him smoking after the surgery? or is there ne way he can smoke?

It will definitely cause him to have more irritation in the eye (which will be sensitive for a few days.)  If he wants to quit he will need to do it on his own - and until then, there is not much you can do.
