Soft Contact lenses warping cornea

Soft Contact lenses warping cornea

In a previous question JC MD had the answer:
If your retina is okay its very likely that your problem is irregular astigmatism due to the contacts warping your cornea. See an Eye MD that specializes in cornea and refractive surgery for another opinion

My next question is:

The contact in my right eye is a soft toric, will a soft contact warp the cornea or does it have to be a rigid one?
Would a warped cornea produce the light patten I am seeing?
And finally, if I stop wearing the contacts, would the cornea slowly unwarp?

Any type of CTL can warp the cornea. Most cases of irregular astigmatism caused by CTLs will even out and return to regular astigmatism or a spherical cornea within 6 weeks to 4 months.

Yes it could cause the light pattern you describe especially if your retina is normal
