Sports eye injury, black eye

Hi Doctor. Sorry for bothering you again. I asked you yesterday if the dark-reddish lines under both my eye  would go away. You recommended that I go get an eye test which I already did and I was told there was no probem. You also mentioned that these dark circles are likely to be trapped blood pigmets (hemoglobin) under my eyes which should go away after 3-6 months. I just wanted you to reassure me that these will go away eventually as I have never had a bruise that lasted this long-5 months now. Will these eventually go away or could there be any other reason apart from what you said about trapped blood? I'm really sorry to ask you this again but my boss and family etc keep asking me if there is anything wrong with me

Many thanks,

If its blood pigments it should go away. This would be rare but if the blood vessels under the skin were damaged and dilated (like varicose veins) then they could persist.

If you see no improvement over the next couple of months see an oculoplastic surgeon for an evaluation and discussion of treatment options.
